Do you have experience selling into the Architecture & Design or Commercial Interiors market?
Are you someone who enjoys building relationships with architects, interior designers, fit-out contractors and commercial decision-makers?
We're working with an ambitious and growing business looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help develop its presence within the Architecture & Design (A&D) and commercial fit-out sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands how the design and specification market works, knows how to influence projects early and enjoys turning relationships into commercial opportunities.
You'll have the support of an established internal team, but this is very much a new business development role. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting out into the market, meeting customers, opening doors and winning business.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you'll take ownership of the full sales cycle, from identifying new projects and engaging with prospective clients through to presenting solutions, managing enquiries, negotiating and closing deals.
You'll develop relationships across the A&D community, identifying opportunities with architects, interior designers, contractors, developers and end users.
This is a full 360 sales role, combining proactive new business generation with relationship-led and specification-based selling.
You'll spend time at the Sandbach HQ alongside regular visits to customers, design practices, project sites and prospective clients.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and win new business within the Architecture & Design, commercial interiors and fit-out sectors
Build relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers, fit-out contractors and developers
Identify upcoming projects and influence specifications at an early stage
Generate your own leads through networking, proactive outreach, referrals and industry relationships
Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to commercial close
Present products and solutions to prospective clients and design teams
Develop relationships with key decision-makers and project stakeholders
Work closely with internal teams to convert enquiries and sales opportunities
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of projects and new business
Attend client meetings, site visits, industry events and networking opportunities
Develop long-term relationships to secure repeat business
What We're Looking For
We're particularly keen to speak with Business Development Managers, Specification Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers who already understand the Architecture & Design or commercial fit-out market.
Ideally, you'll have:
Experience selling products or solutions into the A&D, workplace interiors or commercial fit-out market
Established relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors or specifiers
A track record of winning new business and developing new accounts
An understanding of specification sales, project pipelines and the design-to-installation process
Confidence presenting products and solutions to design professionals and commercial stakeholders
Strong relationship-building, negotiation and commercial skills
A proactive approach to generating your own opportunities
Experience managing sales pipelines and CRM systems
We'd also welcome applications from sales professionals working within commercial furniture, flooring, lighting, acoustic solutions, partitions, interior finishes, building products or other specification-led markets.
The Personality We're Looking For
Hungry – You love opening doors, meeting new people and turning opportunities into business.
Humble – You're a team player, happy to roll your sleeves up and build relationships at every level.
Smart – You understand the commercial side of design-led projects and know how to influence decisions, navigate stakeholders and win business.
What's on Offer?
£40,000–£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
£75,000+ first-year earning potential
Established commission and bonus scheme
Car allowance
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
A varied role combining office-based work with customer visits and field sales
Support from an established internal team
Regular performance reviews and genuine career progression
Free Friday lunches
The opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business
