A CV only tells part of the story. We uncover intrinsic motivations, inspired thinking and ingrained resilience in our trainees. We combine this with industry-leading sales training to develop and grow individuals who we are confident will add value to your bottom line.
“You need sales experience to get a role in sales"
We speak to graduates all the time who worry they don’t have any experience in certain fields or with specific elements of a role/industry. Could this cost them the job?
No! In reality, clients we work with are looking for exactly those people. The key attributes here are that you have proven you can study to a degree level, you have transferable skills, and you are eager to learn. Don’t be afraid to be honest.

Practical tips for giving yourself the best chance in a sales interview
-
Research
Yes some of this should be a given but we’re talking about genuinely reading the website, checking out their social media, have a look on Linkedin at who you are meeting and the teams or founders. Understand the company's mission, values, products, and services. This knowledge will demonstrate your interest and enthusiasm during the interview.
-
Know your stuff
Reflect on your values, strengths, weaknesses, and experiences. Be prepared to discuss your CV in detail. Highlight your experiences, skills, and achievements relevant to the position you're applying for but also have some additional info that’s not on your CV ready to be thrown into the mix. You’re not just a piece of paper, showing authenticity and real-life challenges you’ve overcome will work in your favour.
-
Practice common questions
One that we can help you with; practising how you will answer the common questions in sales interviews. Here its good to have a structure to what you want to put across but also allow yourself a bit of breathing space to go with the flow and show your personality.
-
Question time
Prepare insightful questions to ask the interviewer about the company, team dynamics, or the role itself. This shows your interest and engagement. Remember, you don’t have to be experienced in everything but showing that you are interested in training, progression, gaining experience and insight within the role is what interviewers are looking for.
-
Positive vibes only
Not the easiest one to achieve when you are nervous and feeling the pressure but trying to maintain a positive attitude throughout the interview will serve you well. If faced with challenging questions you can show tenacity and grit the interviewers will see your value regardless of your answers. Show enthusiasm for the opportunity and the company, kindness also goes a long way.
-
Follow up
Send a thank-you email within 24 hours of the interview to express gratitude for the opportunity and reiterate your interest in the position. Maybe add in a personal touch here if you had a good rapport with the interviewer. This is a good way to show your intent and respect of the interview process.
